Jenn Dijkstra received her Ph.D. in Zoology in 2007 at the University of New Hampshire, has a B.A. from the University of New Brunswick (Canada), and a Professional M.S. in Marine Biology from the University of Bremen (Germany). She has conducted research in a variety of geographical areas and habitats, from polar to tropical and from intertidal to deep-water. Her research interests include patterns and processes of biodiversity and succession, biogeography, habitat structure, climate change and non-native species. In these areas, her research focused on 1) the interaction between climate change and distribution of non-native species, community structure and function; and bioaccumulation of contaminants in food webs, and 2) quantifying habitat structure and its role in determining species interactions and community function.

Jenn's research interests at CCOM center on using remote sensing to map and characterize benthic habitats, and to explore the association of species and their habitats.
